What Happened During The Pandemic?

2022-23 Return to Competition and Chinese New Year Celebrations

Red Maple Senior and Junior groups collaborated to prepare a dance “Ten Thousand Land” (万

疆); participated in CNYCA and Davis NewStar Chinese New Year Celebrations and Spotlight

competition; organized Lantern Festival skating party and Costume fundraising event et al. Red

Maple will celebrate its 20th anniversary at the end of school year, welcoming the return of Red

Maple alumni and family.

 

2021-22 Back to In-Person Classes and Performance

Red Maple group returned to in-person dance classes with reasonable safety policy and weekly

safety survey screening and made a successful safe year with outdoor video recordings. Senior

group performed “Fearless” (霍元甲) at CNYCA 2022 Online Celebration and APAPA Asian

Heritage Celebration; “Farewell” (送别) at Pamela’s Dance Project. Junior group performed

“Spring Smile” (霍元甲) at Locke Asian Pacific Spring Festival and Cannery Chinese New Year

Celebration. Red Maple also organized team activities such as Autumn Hiking, Halloween

Biking, and End of Year party.

2020-21 Online Dance and Activities

 

Red Maple group started online dance classes weekly from summer 2020 through the school year

with the goal of maintaining physical and mental health. Besides dance classes, board members

and families also contributed to run online activities such as games, cooking, photography

lessons. It was quite a year of challenges but with lots of fun and love.
