2026 CNYCA Chinese New Year Performance

On February 7th, the Chinese New Year Culture Association (CNYCA) held the 29th annual event to celebrate the Year of the Horse. The celebration was located in Luther Burbank High School Sacramento. The Red Maple Dance Team performed the dances "Lotus Pond In Moonlight" (荷塘月色) and "Fleeting Light" (浮光). Thank you to all the dancers who participated!

2025 Red Maple Dance Team Holiday Performance

On December 29th, 2025, the Red Maple Dance Team lit up the California State Capitol with a cultural dance performance for the Capitol's seasonal holiday celebration. The team performed two traditional Chinese dances, which amazed the audience with their cultural beauty and festive charm.

The Junior Group performed Lotus Pond In Moonlight (荷塘月色), a graceful fan dance that depicts the scene of a calming pond with lotus flowers and small frogs. Afterwards, the Senior Group performed Floating Light (浮光), a powerful water-sleeve dance that reflects the ebb and flow of light. The performance was a huge success, bringing the cultural heritage of Chinese dance to everyone.

2025 Sacramento Chinese Community Track & Field

The Red Maple Senior Dance Team performed at the first ever Sacramento Chinese Community Track and Field Competition, which was held at Davis Senior High, on October 5th, 2025. Hundreds of Chinese people from Northern California, young and old, gathered together to participate in the fun competitions. We performed the fan dance March of Lord Xiang (象王行). There were also other performances including martials arts and singing.

2025 Sacramento Regional Spotlight Dance Cup

We are thrilled to announce that the Red Maple Senior Team has achieved remarkable success at the Northern California Regional Spotlight Dance Cup competition held on February 16th, 2025, in Sacramento, California.

Awards and Achievements: 

• Diamond Award and Judge's Choice for "March of Lord Xiang" (象王行): The Red Maple Senior Team's performance of "March of Lord Xiang" earned both the prestigious Diamond Award and the Judge's Choice recognition. This remarkable achievement highlights our team's exceptional skill, artistry, and dedication to the craft of dance.

• Ruby Award for "Moon Wish" (月愿): The Red Maple Junior Team's stunning performance of "Moon Wish" earned them the Ruby Award. This honor reflects the team's hard ork, talent, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

• Sapphire Royalty Awards Member: In addition to these accolades, we have been honored with the Sapphire Royalty Awards Member status, recognizing our outstanding contributions and achievements in the competition.

2024 Red Maple Dance Team Holiday Performance

The Red Maple Dance Team brought festive cheer and cultural flair to the California State Capitol with a dazzling holiday performance on December 27th. As part of the Capitol’s seasonal celebrations, the team showcased two stunning traditional Chinese dances that captivated the audience with elegance and energy.

The junior group performed “Moon Wish,” a graceful round fan dance that celebrated beauty, harmony, and the hope of the new year. The young dancers, dressed in flowing costumes, moved in perfect unison, creating a serene and mesmerizing atmosphere.

Following them, the senior group took the stage with “March of Lord Xiang,” a powerful blend of fan dance and Chinese sword dance. Inspired by historical Chinese themes, the performance combined precision, strength, and artistry, drawing applause from the crowd for its dynamic choreography and dramatic flair.

The Capitol Hall was filled with holiday cheer and appreciation for the arts, thanks to the Red Maple Dance Team's vibrant and varied performances. The event not only celebrated the festive season but also the rich cultural heritage and talent within the community. The Red Maple Dance Team's holiday show was a resounding success, leaving the audience in awe and spreading festive cheer.
